Work Experience
I was employed for twenty-six years by the Chicago Public School System. I taught art education in a self-contained classroom, and later in my career to grades Pre-K to 8. In the role of Teacher Facilitator, I wrote grants to promote the beautification of the school and worked closely with faculty, students, parents and community artists-in-residence.
It was the next logical step of progression for me to pursue my life long ambition as an artist when I retired from teaching. I had begun studying the figure by taking drawing and sculpting classes at the Evanston Art Center, under the direction of Marilyn Propp and Sheila Oettinger. I have continued to perfect my craft by expanding my instructional areas of concentration by moving into painting in both acrylics and watercolors. The theme of my work is primarily Asian influence.
